I have a range of professional experiences in online and print media and currently focusing on social media, community engagement and data journalism.
I began my journalism career back in 2006 as a reporter and feature writer at the English language daily newspaper the Cyprus Mail before spending a few months at the local bureau of the Reuters News Agency.
I moved to the UK in September 2007 and did a degree in European Social and Political Studies at UCL. Since graduating in 2011, I have worked as consultant and editor on the ENPI Info Centre, the EU-funded communications project covering the EU’s relationship with its neighbouring partner countries in the Mediterranean and the East, as well as a journalist and editor at the official website of the EU Presidency in 2012. In that role, I covered the EU’s health, education, sport, finance and employment sectors. In the last two years I also worked as a freelance European football writer, published by the Independent, Fox Soccer, When Saturday Comes and more, also appearing on radio and television, as well as contributing to the BBC and The Guardian.
In 2013 I have freelanced as a Hansard reporter at the UK Parliament, responsible for transcribing, editing and accurately reporting on proceedings in both Houses of the UK Parliament (Commons and Lords) for the Official Report (Hansard).
